Wheat root rot

Root rot is a harmful disease of grain crops that affects the roots of the plant with pathogens.

As a result, the overall yield of grain crops decreases. The disease often spreads unevenly, resulting in various adverse effects, including reduced grain weight and overall plant quality.

Wheat root rot. Types.

Root rot can be of many kinds. Classification of rots according to the type of pathogen:

  • Fusarium root rot: affects mainly mature plants, leads to browning of shoots, white stems, appearance of tillering knots;
  • Ophiobococcal root rot: causes stem death and whitening, blackening of roots, leaf death, and hollow sprouts;
  • Helminthosporium root rot: first infects and kills the seedlings, when the surviving plants sprout, you can see the dead dark spots on them, then rotting and death of the root system occurs;
  • cercosporrel root rot: causes rounded lesions with a dark rim to appear on the above-ground parts of plants, resulting in broken stems, lodging of crops and hollow spike.

Sources of wheat root rot.

Causes of root rot are associated with the reproduction of pathogens that are in the soil, crop residues, and seeds. Various unfavorable factors contribute to the development of the infectious process: unstable temperature conditions, high humidity, prolonged lack of nutrients in the soil.

Plants are affected by different types of microorganisms. They may differ depending on the climatic conditions of the environment, the variety of the cereal crop, the quality and type of agronomic techniques used. The disease can begin to appear at any stage of plant growth.

Types of wheat root rot control.

Combating root rot requires a comprehensive approach. Before the season begins, it is advisable to study the soil composition carefully. Seed dressing is an effective control measure. The compositions used should be chosen with the type of plant in mind.

It is also important to treat or wet the seeds with a solution in which previously dissolved trace elements (manganese, copper, zinc) or the use of ready-made complex preparations. The ideal is to use complex liquid compositions. They almost completely enter the root system of plants, prevent the reproduction of pathogens and significantly increase crop resistance to aggressive factors.

Complex fertilizer, produced by ” Zoloto Poley “O-RISE All Inclusive” created using cavitation-gravity technology with an optimal composition of trace elements.
